The purpose of our back to back national award winning Advocacy and Public Policy Program is to provide a structure of communicating between leaders of business and government while advocating for The Chamber's Business & Quality of Life Agenda.
Through involvement in all levels of government and Chamber organizations, our Advocacy division, hosted the President of the United states in Feburary 2006, developed our Business & Quality of Life Agenda, and presented Candidates Dialogue (in 2006 & 2007 honored by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) as one of the top 5 Public Policy Programs in the country). In 2007 The Chamber hosted the Governor of Florida twice, Senator Martinez and the "State of the City" address by Mayor Baker. By communicating directly with our community and membership, advocacy can address the "hot button" topics proactively. In 2008 The Chamber kicked off its new year with a "sold out" Annual Dinner Meeting featuring Florida Speaker of the House Marco Rubio. In March the Public Policy Committee and Leadership St. Pete (LSP) class also had a great Trip to Tally featuring a "closed door" discussion with Governor Crist
A new separate corporation titled St. Pete Chamber Political Action Committee (PAC), Inc was established in 2007.
